Wolf, you got that?

On the one hand, any attention that Ann Coulter gets is doing her work for her, and it's an awful thing to keep such a worthless excuse for a human being in the national discussion. But it's pretty clear that Elizabeth Edwards is making a basic, easy-to-understand case that only the most rabid Republican partisan wouldn't agree with. There's pundit rhetoric, and then there are the hateful, mean-spirited things that Coulter, Limbaugh, Michael Savage and Sean Hannity say with a grin. They almost never get called on the national carpet for it, and it's long overdue.
Nothing will change of course. The story isn't nearly as much about what Coulter is saying or has said, it's about the scandal of people calling a suprisingly thin-skinned Coulter on her hate speech. That conversation will happen over and over, and morons like Wolf Blitzer will continue playing dumb.

  1. I also was surprised to see how amazingly thin-skinned Mr Coulter was (a blight on all good decent considerate human trannies everywhere) -- you'd think her incredible insensitivity to human decency would extend to her having some insensitivity to criticism -- and also surprised at how stupid -- Elizabeth Edwards points out Coulter's crude nasty thing about the Edwards' dead son and Coulter says "That was 4 years ago." Then Mrs Edwards talks about Coulter dealing with issues and eliminating personal attacks and outright lies from her repertoire and Coulter thinks it's a good answer to say "So you want me to stop writing." Of course, Coulter's book sales went up.

When I see someone like Anne Coulter or Dick Cheney or etc I think humans didn't invent god because they were afraid, they invented god in the hope that somewhere, some way, sometime, some power will guarantee that compensatory pain will be meted out to these people in return for all they have caused.

On the other Hand, Elizabeth Edwards said what might be the only realistic and candid comment of this already overlong 2008 presidential run, and that was to the Pride Day People when she said "How is my marriage affected by whether or not you get married?"

    Anne Coulter was overmatched.
