Gobama!

As most everyone knows by now, Barack Obama won the Iowa caucus last night. This is in no uncertain terms a historical moment, though whether it leads to him winning the nomination, or the Presidency itself, remains very much to be seen. My buddy Swervie feels we're getting ahead of ourselves if we think America is electing a black man or even a white woman, but I think the GOP field will assist in that very much.

And more importantly, just LISTEN to the man. His eloquence and utter likability are simply stunning. The more people listen to Obama, the more they like him, the more they see a true leader.

I'm on board...are you?

After the fold, take a look at his acceptance speech last night and see if you can resist wanting to see what America will look like under his leadership. I know I can't.


Here's the speech. As Atrios says, good speech making is a strength for a candidate and much less so the strength of a President. True enough, but I'd also state that getting there is a big part of the battle, and people remember Reagan and Clinton fondly mostly for their ability to charm, talk and persuade. Obama has that and then some.
