What is the Reign of Error?
This blog originally started as a way for me to track my fantasy baseball team, named (wait for it) Reign of Error. (The team name was both a nod towards the woeful Bush adminstration but, in all actuality, much more a reference to the category of Errors, something my league introduced to my horror, shame and frustration - and something I'm proud has since been removed from office. Oh, yeah, and same with that Bush guy.)

Now, it's a place where I write musings about, mainly, sports and politics. I lean left in both cases - from that side of the aisle in politics to that coast in sports. I firmly believe that the 49ers are the greatest NFL dynasty in my lifetime, that The Catch should be celebrated in homes across America, and that Dusty Baker cursed the 2002 Giants by giving Russ Ortiz a game ball before the game was over. (And yes, typing that sentence made me queasy, even now.) I have been a Warriors fan and will be one again, just as soon as the coach and management also turn into fans of the team.

I also read a lot and have used this as a place to both write book reviews as well as keep track of what books I read over the years -- while I've managed to keep my reading up more than I'd thought before becoming a father, writing those reviews somehow has become a taller task. Something to work on.

Thanks for swinging by.
